The Hellenic Post supports the Exhibition NOTOS2021

Zappeio Hall, November 19th-22nd

The Hellenic Post is a major supporter of the European Philatelic Exhibition NOTOS 2021, which is organized by the Hellenic Philatelic Society in November 19th-22nd, at Zappeio Hallo, under the auspices of her Excellency, the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

This is a major celebration of Philately, which will host top collections of stamps, envelopes, postcards, letter writing signs, and all kinds of documentation related to the post, with themes ranging from the most well-known to the most unexpected places on the planet. For the first time, visitors will have the opportunity to admire objects such as the printing plates and moulds used to manufacture and print the first Greek stamps in 1861, as well as the renowned Solferino stamps, a unique coloured variety of the 40 cent Large Hermes Head Stamp issued in 1871.

The Hellenic Post’s active participation in the Exhibition NOTOS2021 includes:

  •  Exhibition kiosk - temporary Post Office to promote philatelic products and serve the philatelists visiting the Exhibition.

  • Issuing the Set of Commemorative Feuillet Stamps “NOTOS 2021” in November 19th - the day of the opening ceremony - which will be available at the Exhibition Post Office and the Hellenic Post’s eshop here. The Set depicts two exhibits from the “valuables” collection at the Exhibition NOTOS 2021, adapted by Myrsini Vardopoulou: the medal mould for the Large Hermes Head Stamp, namely the first Greek stamp issued in 1861 and designed by Albert Barre, master engraver at the French Mint (Monnaie de Paris), and the intaglio mould, engraved by Y. Gourzis, Professor at the School of Fine Arts, for the 150-year anniversary edition of the Greek stamp. The Set also includes First Day Cover Envelopes and Numbered Albums.
