THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNION OF CRETE WITH GREECE

The union of Crete with Greece was symbolically formalised on Sunday 1 December 1913, when King Constantine and the Prime Minister, Eleftherios Venizelos, came to Chania to raise the Greek flag over Firka fort at the city’s port.
Hellenic Post honours this anniversary on Monday, December 2, 2013 with a commemorative set of stamps.
